Overview:

This technical session provides a practical deep dive into essential calculations, metrics, and analytical techniques that influence daily safety decisions. The presentation covers key HSE performance formulas, monitoring parameters, crane and lifting calculations, industry benchmarks, and real case studies where incorrect calculations led to incidents. A live interactive quiz reinforces learning and engagement.

Attendees will learn how to accurately apply critical HSE formulas (TRIR, LTIFR, Severity Rate), interpret monitoring limits (air quality, noise, lighting), understand crane and lifting mathematics (SAF, load sharing, cranage %), recognise critical lift triggers, and benchmark performance using IOGP data. They will also understand common calculation errors seen in real-world incidents and how to avoid them.

This session is designed for HSE professionals, Safety Managers, Supervisors, Engineers, Auditors, and anyone involved in operational risk control, reporting, lifting operations, and incident prevention. It is also suitable for emerging HSE practitioners seeking to strengthen their analytical and technical decision-making skills.
