Overview
Legionella risk assessments are nothing new, the need to complete these risk assessments has been around for decades. The standard and quality of these risk assessments can vary greatly! Our briefing session will last around 30/45 minutes and reiterates the need for legionella risk assessments and how they are required under the Regulations and Guidance documents. In 2010 British Standards Institute issued BS8580 Water quality – risk assessments for legionella control – code of practice. For the first time, a published standard on what a Legionella risk assessment should include. In 2019 British Standards issued an update to BS8580, further refining the standards for these risk assessments. With an understanding of the defined requirements within the standard, the delegate will be able to objectively review their current risk assessments to determine how suitable and compliant they are with BS8580.
