Elaine Osborne

Chair of the Ambassadors Network

I am an experienced SHEQ Manager with over 15 years’ experience leading safety, health, environment and quality across complex, multi-site operations. I am the SHEQ Manager in AG Wilson Civil Engineering, providing SHEQ leadership across Northern Ireland and Scotland and embedding strong governance, practical assurance, and a “Safety Built In” approach to operational delivery.

My career spans conservation, public transport, railway infrastructure, shipbuilding and construction, including roles with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Translink, Harland & Wolff, and McLaughlin & Harvey. This breadth has shaped a pragmatic, people-centred approach to risk management that balances compliance, learning, and real-world complexity.

I am an active International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (IIRSM) member and Chair of the Ambassadors Network, contributing to practitioner-led discussions on modern risk competence, leadership, and the future of the profession. Alongside this, I am a RoSPA Mentor and an Executive Committee Member of the Northern Ireland Safety Group, with a strong commitment to collaboration, professional development, and shared learning.
