Emma Soane

Assistant Professor - LSE

Dr. Emma Soane joined the LSE in 2008. She teaches organisational behaviour, risk and leadership to postgraduate and executive students. Emma's research examines how personality, team working, and organisational environments influence decisions, performance and risks. Recent projects include studies of financial decision making, team processes, and the prospective organisation of risk. Emma has extensive field work experience in public and private sector organisations, including government departments, local government, hospitals, manufacturing, IT, television production, waste management and top-tier investment banks. Her award-winning research has been published in a range of academic and practitioner journals. Emma has co-authored two books, “Employee Engagement in Theory and Practice” and “Traders: Managing risks and decisions in financial markets”.

Emma has a PhD Psychology and MSc Occupational Psychology (University of Sheffield) and a BSc Psychology (University of Leicester). She is a Chartered Psychologist, a Chartered Scientist, and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. Emma has also worked in the NHS, Social Services and at Kingston Business School and London Business School.
