Tell us about your role and responsibilities

I have managed health and safety for a number of oil and gas service companies in the middle-east. I have developed management systems, policies and governance systems needed to operate within high-risk environments.

Why did you choose to study the NEBOSH IIRSM Certificate in Managing Risk?

I was recommended by a close friend who was part of the pilot programme, his recommendation was taken up. Risk management is part of my role as a safety professional so naturally this was a logical move.

What elements of the course did you enjoy most and why?

I found the range of tools and techniques for assessing risk particularly useful and relevant to my role.

How have you applied this course to your role?

I have used many of the techniques within my role. Some that I already used, I was able to perform better. Some that I had not used before gave me new perspectives on how to approach risk.

I continually refer back to my course notes to refresh my memory.

Yes, I would definitely recommend this course to others, as I have already done since completing it.
