Heathrow Airport has renewed its commitment to workplace and passenger safety by extending its partnership with Safe365, a New Zealand-based safety technology company, for a further three years.

The renewed agreement with Safe365 was exchanged at a ceremony in London on 22 April, attended by Heathrow CEO Thomas Woldbye and celebrated by New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, who was also in attendance. The renewed commitment highlights Heathrow’s ongoing investment in leading-edge technology to strengthen safety culture across its operations.

Safe365 is increasingly being implemented by many large, complex UK companies in an effort to elevate health & safety capability and culture to reduce harm to workers. Now in use by six major UK airports, Safe365’s digital platform enables organisations to take a data-driven approach to measuring, monitoring, and continually improving their safety performance. Since the partnership began, Heathrow has integrated Safe365’s insights-driven approach into its day-to-day operations, supporting a safer airport environment for both staff and the travelling public.

“Heathrow is one of the most complex operating environments in the world, and we are proud to support its continued leadership in safety innovation,” said Nathan Hight, CEO of Safe365. “This extension reflects a shared commitment to building a high-performance safety culture by using data-driven insights alongside internal and external benchmarking to target improvement efforts where it will make the most impact for Heathrow and its extensive ecosystem of delivery partners.”

Heathrow Airport Health, Safety and Wellbeing Director Amanda Owen MBE said “Safe365 has proven to be an excellent partner for Heathrow Airport. The platform has helped us measure, monitor and improve our safety culture which has unlocked social, regulatory and commercial benefits to our business. The benchmarking power of Safe365 is something that should be of interest to the global airport and aviation industry.”

The partnership also reflects the growing global footprint of New Zealand’s technology sector, with Safe365 recognised internationally for its impact across construction, transport and logistics, primary industries, local government, infrastructure and aviation as it seeks to support 100 million workers into proactively safe work environments globally.
