Enhancing the expertise of women in safety and risk

IIRSM and Avetta are delighted to be working together on the Athena Bursary, an exciting new initiative to help enhance the risk and safety management expertise of women from across Europe and the UK.

Successful applicants will receive Avetta-funded places on the IIRSM Managing Risk – The Essentials training course, enriching their knowledge of risk management and encouraging them to become safety and risk wise as they progress in their careers.

The Athena Bursary is available to early career women living and working in Europe and the UK, within the risk and safety sector.

Everyone, regardless of role and seniority, needs to be able to identify and manage risk. The Managing Risk course provides a practical introduction to the principles, tools and processes that can be used to improve decision-making and enables participants to become more resilient and better prepared for a crisis.

"Avetta is immensely proud to sponsor the Athena Bursary, supporting women in Europe and the UK to expand their underpinning safety and risk knowledge through IIRSM training. We are excited about the potential of the applicants and their future contributions to workplace safety, which perfectly aligns with our company’s mission,” said Mike Ford, Global Principal for EHS and Sustainability at Avetta.

The one-day online training, delivered by experts in a live environment, will take place on 24 September. It will be delivered in English.
