Enhancing travel risk management is the aim of a new partnership between two leaders in the field.
The educational charity and professional body, the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) and Travel Risk & Incident Prevention (TRIP) Group have joined forces to provide professional development and networking opportunities to each other’s respective memberships.
IIRSM has members in more than 90 countries, representing all risk disciplines from compliance, environmental management, health and safety, insurance, internal audit, quality management, security and project management.
The TRIP Group is home to one of the world’s fastest growing travel risk management communities. A membership organisation that’s “united in their mission to keep travellers safe”, it says.
The organisation’s partnership will see
Discounts on membership for both TRIP Group and IIRSM members
Discounts for members of each organisation (IIRSM & TRIP) to attend events
Discounts on consultancy and training courses
Collaboration on joint ventures and events
Creation of a Travel Risk Management Course
Delivery of travel safety and security training for IIRSM members
Speaking about the partnership, TRIP Group CEO Lloyd Figgins said: “We’re delighted to announce the TRIP Group partnership with IIRSM, and to be able to provide our members with access to a range or risk resources and capability.
“IIRSM have a wealth of knowledge and tools to help organisations be the best they can possibly be when it comes to risk management. We are very excited to be working alongside them and the opportunities it will bring for both organisations and all of our members.
“Oversees business travel has continued to some degree during the pandemic, but only now are we really starting to see more widespread business travel taking place. The volatility of overseas travel will continue and organisations, more than ever, need to have robust risk management plans in place to safeguard the welfare of their people.
“They need to ensure they have the right policies, people, skills, training and experience in place or know where to get that expertise if needed. ”
IIRSM’s CEO Phillip Pearson said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with the TRIP Group, and to be able to provide our members with access to a range of resources and experts in all areas of Travel Risk.”
Mr Pearson said the partners would be running a webinar in partnership on 20 October on the new ISO 31030 standard, which will be the new global benchmark for travel risk management.
“We look forward to collaborating closely with the TRIP Group to bring great opportunities to both organisations and all our members,” he said.
“The wellbeing of our people is paramount. The continued uncertainty over international travel, which is here to stay, means it has never been so important to have robust risk and safety plans in place, to ensure the safety of our people whilst travelling. Everyone has the right to return home safely from work!”
