Venterra has become a partner of IIRSM, with the aim of driving a holistic approach to risk management across the organisation.
Established in 2021, Venterra is a dedicated offshore wind services platform, supporting the industry’s rapid expansion and leading role in the energy transition.
Growing by acquisition and investing for accelerated organic growth, Venterra is made up of eight specialist member companies employing more than 500 people worldwide. These companies – Balltec, FoundOcean, Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions, INSPIRE Environmental, Naver Energy, Ordtek, Osbit and Partrac – are supporting developers across all phases of the offshore wind farm lifecycle.
With the total capacity of wind power expected to grow significantly over the coming years, the technical, supply chain, people and resource challenges associated with scaling up a relatively new industry are set to escalate. Developers are also having to navigate a rapidly evolving regulatory and public policy environment, as well as a complex industry ecosystem. Meanwhile, the services market remains highly fragmented, with multiple experienced but sub-scale players, and with companies currently lacking capital to grow quickly enough to meet demand.
By creating a global services business, backed by strong management and investment capital, Venterra aims to help developers bring more wind power capacity online faster – in turn speeding up the transition to cleaner energy.
Claire Binns, Group Director of HSSEQ, Venterra, said: “Partnering with IIRSM provides a valuable opportunity to reinforce our commitment to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all employees across the Venterra Group. We’re looking forward to being part of a global community focused on driving a holistic approach to risk management and aligning on best practices.”
IRSM Chief Executive Phillip Pearson said: “I'm delighted that Venterra has partnered with IIRSM. We look forward to developing a positive relationship for both organisations.”
