Learn with IIRSM and develop your competence to safely manage risk

Our mission is to drive the holistic evolution of risk management in organisations, educating and protecting their people through our unique communities. Part of how we do this is providing high quality, formal and informal learning opportunities to support risk management professionals to develop their knowledge, competencies and skills.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Is tracking CPD activity through IIRSM required?

During the review of our systems and member feedback, we decided that tracking your CPD activity via IIRSM is no longer a requirement. We understand that most of our members belong to other bodies where tracking CPD is a requirement to maintain membership, and this can be an onerous activity to repeat.

However, managing your CPD activity is still important. Knowledge sharing and learning is a key component of what we offer and attraction for people joining us, so while we provide many opportunities to gain CPD through our webinars, events, insights & resources, and volunteering opportunities, we trust that by qualifying for membership and being an active member of our community you are partaking in professional development.

What does this mean for fellows?

IIRSM Fellows are still required to send evidence and records of CPD as part of the application and renewal processes, with a minimum of 5 entries per year. For Fellows on a multi-year membership, we will send you a check in email annually to confirm that CPD is being maintained. We can accept CPD records in an excel spreadsheet format or export file from other recognised membership bodies.

We trust that between the application, renewal, and annual check in processes, and by supporting our communities, you are managing your professional development sufficiently, and therefore will not be asking you to maintain an online record on our platform.
