At the heart of any safety-critical system are its people, who create safety most of the time but are also usually involved on the rare occasions that things go wrong.  An understanding of human factors, which seeks to optimise the role of people in systems, is therefore crucial in risk management.  In this webinar, Mark will give an overview of the discipline of Human Factors, including some examples from his work in road transport and rail accident investigation, as well as an introduction to the work of his membership body, the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) and where there are relevant overlaps with risk and safety management.
